Three people were killed in a collision between a freight train and a minivan in the east-central German state of Thuringia on Tuesday, dpa reported. The accident took place at a railway crossing near the municipality of Lohma, near the city of Gera, according to federal police. The vehicle was struck side-on by the train and dragged around 200 metres down the track, according to police. All of those who died had been travelling in the minivan. Police were looking for official documents in the vehicle in order to identify the victims.
