Former United States Energy Secretary Dr. Ernest Moniz has described the role of King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) as important to address the challenges of local and global energy, in addition to its role in supporting the Kingdom's vision 2030 depending on an economy based on knowledge and innovation. This came during Dr. Moniz's visit to the center where he met with its president Engineer Nazmi Al-Nasr and he was briefed on the latest developments in research publications and studies related to energy policies. Dr. Moniz also held a panel discussion with a number of researchers at the center, during which he referred to the factors conducive to achieving the Kingdom's future objectives focusing on innovation technology and stimulating the private sector's investments in the fields of renewable energy to be added to energy sources in the Kingdom.
