Asian stocks were mostly lower Thursday, AP reported. Japan's benchmark Nikkei 225 lost 1.5 percent to 18,585.90, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 dipped 0.5 percent to 5,849.90. South Korea's Kospi lost 0.6 percent to 2,147.22. Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell 0.6 percent to 24,254.63. The Shanghai Composite edged up 0.3 percent to 3,280.23. Shares were lower in Singapore, Taiwan, the Philippines and Indonesia. U.S. crude oil fell 26 cents to $50.89 a barrel in New York. It rose 12 cents to $51.15 a barrel Wednesday. Brent, the international standard, slipped 23 cents to $54.13 a barrel in London. The dollar slipped to 110.48 yen from 110.91 yen late Wednesday in Asia. The euro rose to $1.0674 from $1.0665.
