In a comment on the report posted on the official website of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs alleging that Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir revealed the intention of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of canceling the previous debts Iraq owes, an official source at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs asserted the untruth of the report.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the source added that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is keen on building the best relations with the Republic of Iraq and on increasing official exchanges at the highest levels between the two countries, a fact reflected in the recent meeting the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz held with Prime Minister of Iraq Haider Al-Abadi on the fringes of the recent Arab Summit in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
