Published in Saudi Press Agency on 29 - 03 - 2017

UAE, Kingdom of Bahrain and Qatar condemned persistent attacks on Saudi cities with ballistic missiles by the Houthi and Saleh Militias, statements issued by the three-GCC member countries state-run media and quoted here by SPA, confirmed the continual of arms trafficking through the Port of Hodeidah that is still under the militia's control.
In a statement carried by UAE News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation of the UAE, said that the attacks on Saudi cities with ballistic missiles is an indication of the militia's determination to undermine any political efforts to end the Yemen crisis. In addition, there are regional parties who work on fueling the conflict and keeping the situation unsolved to serve their own agendas, the statement added.
The statement stressed UAE's position that calls for crystallizing an international consensus in support of a notion that the Port of Hodeidah should serve as a mouth for humanitarian aid operations, successful delivery of these operations inside, and prevention of gunrunning by the militias to prolong the crisis and exacerbate the humanitarian situation in Yemen.
Kingdom of Bahrain condemned in the strongest terms the ongoing attacks on Saudi cities by the militias, a development that confirms the continual of arms trafficking by regional parties to these militias to undermine the efforts to end the crisis in Yemen and destabilize the region.
For its part, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for an international stand towards the situation in Port of Hodeidah that is under the control of the militias, to put an end to the use of the strategic port in smuggling weapons, calling for facilitating the access of the humanitarian aides to Yemeni people instead.
The Kingdom of Bahrain assured its commitment to support legitimacy in Yemen until it enforces security and upholds peace in Yemen as well as to enable the legitimate government, led by President Abd Rabu Mansour Hadi, to assume its responsibilities, end all kinds of external interference and reach a political settlement based on the GCC initiative and its executive mechanisms, the outcome of National dialogue, and the UN Security Council Resolution 2216 (2015)
Qatar also condemned and denounced strongly these persistent attacks on Saudi cities.
In a statement carried by Qatar News Agency, the Foreign Ministry of Qatar considered these attacks as clear evidence of the militias' violations and refusal to adhere to the resolutions of the international community, and holding back the efforts to reach a political solution to the Yemeni crisis.
The statement affirms Qatar's solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in its measures to maintain its security and stability. It also reiterates its support for all efforts exerted to achieve peace in Yemen in accordance with the Gulf initiative, the outcome of the national dialogue and UN resolutions, such as resolution 2216.
