At least 11 Indian paramilitary police were killed in an ambush by Maoist rebels in India's eastern Chhattisgarh state on Saturday, police said. The Maoists ambushed the CRPF group as it travelled through the dense forests of Sukma district. The militants triggered an IED improvised explosive device blast and opened indiscriminate gunfire on the group. The security personnel retaliated, but we have yet to confirm if the Maoists have suffered any casualties, media reports quoted senior police officer as saying. Four policemen sustained injuries in the attack, he said.
