On the sidelines of Davos World Economic Forum, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Minister of Commerce and Investment, has met with heads of the Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) for Information Technology Services, CSCO Company, ROCHE Company for Medical Care and HILTON Company for Hotels and Resorts. During his meeting with the HP president, Al-Qasabi discussed with him ways of expanding activities of the HP company in the Kingdom. The two sides agreed that the company is to send a team to the Kingdom to closely recognize the economic environment and investment opportunities in the Kingdom as well as to cooperate with the universities and institutes in the research field. The minister of commerce and investment discussed with the CSCO president ways of developing partnership with the Kingdom and the company's role in supporting the sector of information technology. Dr. Al-Qasabi also discussed with the head of ROCHE Company for Medical Care ways of enhancing partnership with the Kingdom in developing the healthy sector. The minister of commerce and investment and the chairman of HILTON Company for Hotels and Resorts discussed ways of enhancing the field of tourism in the Kingdom through training the Saudi cadres and developing the tourist regions in the Kingdom. Dr. Al-Qasabi stressed that these meetings aim to highlight the available promising investment opportunities in the Kingdom and to enhance the investment roles of those companies based on the Kingdom's trends to raise the direct foreign investments of the general domestic product (GDP) from 3,8% to the global rate 5,7%, which is one of the important aims of the Kingdom Vision 2030.
