Issoufou Dayo's 75th minute header earned Burkina Faso a 1-1 draw with Cameroon in the Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday, the first day of action in Gabon, dpa reported. The result leaves every team in Group A level on one point each after hosts Gabon opened the tournament with a surprise 1-1 draw against minnows Guinea-Bissau earlier on Saturday. Defender Dayo was on hand to head home after Fabrice Ondoa spilled Banou Diawara's free kick in the 75th minute. Earlier, Cameroon had taken the lead through captain Benjamin Moukandjo's 35th minute free kick and should have extended their lead, but missed some fine chances. A brilliant saving tackle by Burkina Faso goalkeeper Kouakou Koffi prevented Christian Bassogog when he broke through one-on-one just before half time, a moment which kept his team in the game. Due to technical difficulties at the start of the game, the national anthems of both teams couldn't be played in the stadium, with the players instead singing them with their supporters.
