Chelsea beat Stoke 4-2 in a thrilling clash on New Year's Eve to make it a record-equalling 13 consecutive wins and go nine points clear at the top of the Premier League. Stoke came from behind twice but Willian scored his second goal of the day and Diego Costa wrapped up matters to extend their lead over Liverpool, who play Manchester City later on Saturday, accordin to dpa. Chelsea matched Arsenal's record from 2001-02 with 13 straight wins in one season. Manchester United scored two late goals to beat Middlesbrough 2-1 at home while West Brom climbed to eighth with a 2-1 victory at Southampton. Burnley hammered Sunderland 4-1 thanks to an Andre Gray hat-trick, Bournemouth won 3-0 at bottom side Swansea and champions Leicester moved away from trouble with a 1-0 win over West Ham.
