Supporters of Jeddah-based Al-Ahli soccer team, nicknamed in the Saudi media as the Castle of Cups, flocked by air and land to Doha, Qatar, to attend their team's historic friendly with Barcelona, scheduled for tomorrow at Al-Gharrafa stadium. The event is part of Doha's annual soccer friendly meetings of some of the world's leading teams to play friendlies since Qatar was awarded the title of world cup 2022 host country. The Saudi league champion, which arrived in the Qatari capital yesterday and embarked on special trainings under the supervision of its Swiss coach Gross, will miss two of its brilliant players, due to injuries: Mutaz Hawsawe and Mustafa Bassas. But to compensate this loss and most probably to add some Gulf flavor to the match, Omer Abdulrahman, mid-fielder of UAE-based Al-Ain soccer cup and Asia's best player for 2016, was selected to play on the part of Al-Ahli, a stunning good shot by Qatari organizers.
