The Yemeni army said today that the Houthi militias and forces loyal to deposed president Ali Saleh have violated the current truce since its first day. The government-run Yemeni news agency, quoted an official source of the Yemeni army as saying that the militias fired heavy artillery at the army's fortifications in Al-Masloub directorate, Al-Salan region in Al-Joaf province in the northern part of the country one hour after the truce announcement. In addition, they targeted the army and popular resistance sites in Al-Gheel directorate with Mortar, the source said. He also said that "in Taiz province, they violated the truce by launching a Katyusha missile on a village in Habshi mountain directorate, in the west of the province, leading to eruption of a fire in the premises of a home, adding that several residential districts in the city and the rural areas in the surroundings were also intensively targeted as the truce was entering into force.
