Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Faleh, the Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, met at the headquarters of the Council of Ministers in Riyadh today, with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Yukiya Amano and his assistant Kolenth Bridi. During the meeting, they discussed issues pertaining to atomic energy, including measures taken by the Kingdom to introduce atomic energy as part of its energy system, with the international energy senior official lauding the program inserted by the Kingdom in its national transformation program and expressed happiness of the outcomes of the workshop held by King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy with IAEA last August. He also lauded the Kingdom's positions and policies and clear position towards disarmament and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, citing the Kingdom's effective role in the governors council in its former session and within IAEA's general assembly. He expressed appreciation of the Kingdom for its donation to the renewal of IAEA's lab in the Austrian city of Seibersdorf and the Kingdom's establishing a center for nuclear security. The meeting was attended by a number of officials.
