The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has expressed its profound sympathy to the government and people of the Republic of Cameroon following the train accident that occurred at the Eseka railway station along the Yaounde-Douala railroad on 21 October 2016 in which dozens of passengers lost their lives and hundreds more were gravely injured. The Secretary General, Iyad bin Ameen Madani, in a letter addressed to the Cameroonian President, Paul Biya, extended his condolences to the Republic of Cameroon especially the families of the victims of the tragedy. He prayed for the speedy recovery of all those who were injured and noted that the OIC mourned with Cameroon in this sad period of national grief.
