German researchers said on Friday they have discovered two new species of crabs in the depths of the Caribbean Sea, according to dpa. The tiny creatures were found at a depth of between 522 and 1162 metres during an expedition in the Gulf of Mexico, the German Center for Marine Biodiversity Research in the northern German city of Wilhelmshaven. The species known as spring crabs are about seven millimetres long with a transparent shell. "Up until now they lived undiscovered and unnamed," said marine biologist Lydia Beuck.
