Yemen's Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Abdulmalik Al-Mikhlafi confirmed his government's determination to reach peace through supporting UN envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Al-Chieck Ahmed and the endeavor sponsored by the United Nations to implement the resolution No. 2216 to bring about peace in Yemen. In a speech before the Arab ministers meeting in Nouakchott today to prepare for the Arab summit in Mauritania, Al-Mikhlafi said his government seeks the restoration of the political process from where it stopped as soon as possible according to the GCC initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive national conference, the implementation of the UN Security Council resolution No. 2216 to end the coup, restore the constitutional legitimacy, the State's institutions, and security and stability to Yemen. He said the intransigence of the rebels to show cooperation during Kuwait consultations, their giving their back to the agreement reached before, their lack of seriousness to release the political detainees, legal and journalist activists, their reluctance to open safe havens for relief assistance, not willing to lift siege, particularly on Taiz, are issues whose responsibility they have to shoulder.
