Torrential rain across China since Wednesday morning has left 14 people dead and 72 missing, reports said Thursday, according to dpa. All casualties and missing persons were reported from the northern province of Hebei so far, with nearly 2 million people in 11 cities seeking help from disasters, the official Xinhua news agency reported. Rain storms across China have cut off telecommunications and reports of casualties are expected to rise, Xinhua said. Heavy rain continued to batter regions from the capital Beijing to central Shandong province and to Guangxi to the south-east Thursday. Flights were canceled and train services have been disrupted accross the country, Xinhua reported.
