Saudi Ambassador to Egypt, who is also the Kingdom Permanent Representative to the Arab League and the Dean of the Arab Corps Diplomatic Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Qattan pointed out that the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has ratified the statue of the Arab Court of Human Rights, following the issuance of decision by Cabinet, in this regard, on 01-09-1437 AH., and the issuance of a royal decree, to effect the decision. In a press statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) Qattan announced that the rapid response by the Kingdom on ratifying the statue, reflects Saudi wise leadership interest and keenness on protecting and preserving human rights, drawing attention to the Kingdom strenuous efforts, in this regard, and endeavors to establish its values and finding the best ways to carry them out, in order to reinforce Arab League's mechanisms to consolidate human rights, in the Arab world. He also indicated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is the first country to ratify this statue, following adopting it by the Arab League Council, on ministerial level, in September 2014.
