Prince Abdullah bin Faisal bin Turki, Saudi ambassador to the United States, stressed the importance of the current visit to the United States of America by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency on Monday, the Saudi ambassador said that the visit comes as an extension of the historical close relations between the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the USA and it will have a significant impact on the development of the common interests of the two countries, in the light of the official welcome and great attention given to the visit by US officials. He added that the visit comes in very favorable conditions following the announcement of the "Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's 2030," the economic movement that is represented in the national transformation program to meet the challenges of the 21st century and the investment in new economic opportunities, which the cooperation between the kingdom and the US is an important aspect of it. The Saudi ambassador pointed out the special attention given by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz to the development and modernization of the capabilities of Saudi armed forces, and the Deputy Crown Prince's ongoing efforts in this regard. He highlighted the current defense cooperation between the kingdom and the USA and the interest of both sides to promote it in light of the current conditions on the regional and international levels, stressing the Kingdom's commitment to combating terrorism and extremism, and noting the kingdom's participation in the international coalition against Daash organization, the Saudi-led Islamic Alliance to combat terrorism, the kingdom's efforts to maintain security and stability in the region, its efforts to restore legitimacy and peace in the brotherly Yemen and its efforts to curb the Iranian interference in the affairs of the countries in the region. The ambassador explained that the visit of the Deputy Crown Prince includes bilateral meetings with US senior officials and representatives of the private sector, as well as meetings with US political and intellectual institutions' officials.
