Based on several reports from prudent witnesses in different parts of the country that they have eye-seen the new crescent of the month of Ramadan at sunset on Sunday Sha'ban 29, 1437 H., and as per Prophet Mohammed's instructions (pbuh) that Muslims are obliged to start fasting and breakfasting once they see the moon, the Higher Court has, at an extraordinary session this evening and after having collected enough evidence of the advent of the moon, decided that tomorrow Monday is the first of the fasting month of Ramadan 1437 H. On this occasion, the Higher Court congratulates the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; his Crown Prince and the Deputy Crown Prince, the government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as the Muslim expatriates and all the Islamic nation on the advent of this blessed month, appealing to Allah Almighty to help all fasters to accomplish their worshipping in ease and comfort, make the Islamic nation united, reconciled and its religion victorious.
