The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah on Monday afternoon - The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques welcomed the leaders of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States in their 16th consultative meeting and briefed the Cabinet on the results of his meeting with the United Kingdom Foreign Secretary. - The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques was assured about preparations made by various authorities concerning with the service of Umrah performers and visitors in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan, stressing the Kingdom's keenness to provide the best services for visitors of the Two Holy Mosques, directing all these authorities to intensify efforts to create religious atmospheres for the visitors of the Two Holy Mosques. - The Cabinet expressed its thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for his attention to the construction of the Two Holy Mosques, the holy sites and their visitors, stressing that the patronage of the Crown Prince, on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, of the events of the 16th Scholarly Forum for Research of Hajj, Umrah and Visit embodies his attention to exploit all potentials, efforts and services for pilgrims, Umrah performers and visitors and develop the system of Hajj, Umrah and visit in the service of the guests of Allah. - The Cabinet confirmed that the King's patronage of the ceremony of King Abdulaziz University on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its foundation is an extension to the care of the leaders of this blessed country being accorded to science and scientists as it is the basis of development and progress, congratulating the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques on the occasion of being awarded the honorary doctorate in promoting Islamic unity by King Abdulaziz University. - The Cabinet expressed its thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the issuance of his approval to exempt farmers of Arabian Shield areas from the repayment of the loans of Agricultural Development Fund because of the drought. - The Cabinet confirmed that the King's patronage of the final match of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup Competition embodies attention, support, encouragement and keenness being given to the Kingdom's youths and athletic men for the development of this sector and stimulating young people for achievement and excellence in regional, continental and international arenas. - The Cabinet welcomed the joint statement issued at the conclusion of the 4th joint ministerial meeting for strategic dialogue among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States and Russia, and the joint statement for the 2nd strategic dialogue between the GCC foreign ministers and the Foreign Minister of Canada as well as the results of the joint meeting of the GCC foreign ministers and the Foreign Minister of Britain. - The Cabinet commended the results of the 139th session of the GCC Ministerial Council, the decisions issued by the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Arab Foreign Ministers, and Arab Information Ministers Council's adoption of Al-Quds as "The Capital of Arab Media" in a confirmation of its special status in the Arab and Muslim world.
