Australia and Singapore will expand defence, security and trade ties in an agreement announced Friday, as dpa reported. Under the deal Singapore will send up to 14,000 military personnel to Australia for training each year - more than double the current 6,000. Over the next 25 years Singapore will spend 2.25 billion Australian dollars (1.7 billion US dollars) on military infrastructure in Australia to support its forces in the country for the training.
