The Ministry of Agriculture has temporarily banned the import of cows from the Republic of Bulgaria because of the lumpy skin disease. The Director General of Animal and Plant Quarantine Department, Dr. Osama bin Abdullah Al-Saleh said that the ban was based on the warning bulletin received from the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) on the spread of the lumpy skin disease in cows of the Republic of Bulgaria. He pointed out that the ban was a precaution to ensure that no disease can be transmitted to the Kingdom until a declaration will be issued by (OIE) that this country is free from this disease .
