Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Okaz newspaper considered in its editorial that the visit of US President Barack Obama to the Kingdom and his meeting in Riyadh with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States, provides a valuable opportunity to review the course of relations. The paper explained that defects harmed the relationships between the two sides in recent times as a result of inaction in the US position towards the Iranian interference in the internal affairs of the Arab region, especially those interventions that seemed blatant in Yemen, Syria, Iraq and Lebanon. It hoped that the GCC-US Summit will remove these differences and to clear things up in frank discussions beyond the official protocols, saying that confronting terrorism of the terrorist groups of "Da'esh" and "Al-Qaeda" requires addressing causes from their roots. --More
