Al-Shabaab Commander and 22 Fighters Killed Near Mogadishu

A top commander of the insurgent group al-Shabaab and 22 other fighters were killed in a joint military operation between African Union forces (AMISOM) and the Somali National Army (SNA) south of the capital Mogadishu Friday night.
The local commander Janaale Abdirashir Buqdube was killed in the airstrikes and ground attacks, dpa quoted AMISOM as saying in a statement Saturday.
