Mexican police arrested the finance chief of the powerful Sinaloa cartel in the southern city of Oaxaca, officials said Sunday, according to dpa. Juan Manuel Alvarez Inzunza, 34, was known as King Midas and allegedly organized the drug cartel's money laundering operations that reportedly total 300 million to 400 million US dollars per year. The cartel's leader, Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, was captured in January, but the number 2, Ismael Zambada Garcia, remains on the run. The Sinaloa cartel is among the most powerful in Latin America and in addition to drug trafficking is involved in pirated goods, human trafficking and racketeering.
