Opposition leader Hama Amadou, 66, only won around 7 per cent of the vote, it said. Issoufou, who has been in office since 2011, just missed an absolute majority in the first round of the election on February 21, getting 48 per cent of the vote. His main challenger Hama Amadou received 18 per cent of the vote.
