Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense made a telephone call to the Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayyeb. During the conversation, the Deputy Crown Prince expressed the Kingdom appreciation of Al-Azhar for the stance it took against terrorism and extremism, reiterating support for Al-Azhar denunciation and disapproval of the criminal sectarian militias' acts. For his part, the Grand Sheikh thanked the Deputy Crown Prince, asserting Al-Azhar firm stance based on the call for the unity of Muslims and their stand, in addition to thwart off extremism and violence leading to Destabilization and threatening regional security.
