At least 22 people have been killed and more than 30 others injured in an attack on the SYL Hotel in Mogadishu, dpa quoted a member of the security forces as telling it Saturday. Terrorist Somali group al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack, which saw gunmen storm a hotel in central Mogadishu after detonating two car bomb outside its gates, officials and witnesses in the Somali capital said. After the explosions, gunfire was heard at the SYL hotel, home to government officials, business professionals and foreign nationals. It is located near the heavily secured presidential palace.
