Austria is making plans for the introduction of border controls at a dozen additional crossings in order to manage the inflow of migrants, Interior Minister Johanna Mikl-Leitner says. According to dpa, the plans affect Austria's borders with Hungary, Slovenia and Italy, including the major Brenner mountain pass crossing the Italian-Austrian border. The border measures are to include checks on people, vehicles and trains, the Interior Ministry says about the controls that are to be modelled on recently introduced strict controls at the Slovenian-Austrian border at Spielfeld.
