The National Festival for Heritage and Culture "Janadriya 30", organized by the Ministry of National Guard, is set to kick off on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 with the participation of a host of literates and intellectuals from all over the world. In this regard, Prince Meteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of National Guard, who is also Chairman of the festival's Higher Committee, forwarded thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his patronage of the event, welcoming the Federal Republic of Germany as official guest of honor for this year. For his part, Germany's ambassador to the Kingdom Boris Ruge said choosing Germany as this year's guest of honor is a great honor to his country and yet another evidence of the depth of bilateral relations between the two countries. He said visitors to his country's pavilion would admire under the title of "made in Germany" new ideas and projects of the future, citing business, science and society fields. Mohammed bin Omar bin Abdulrahman Al-Aqeel (Abuabdulrahman Al-Dhaheri) was chosen as this year's cultural personality 2016. Several cultural activities, including arts, handicrafts, folk dance (Arda men dancing performance), Arabic calligraphy, plastic arts, theatric performance (plays and poetry), symposia, female performance, will constitute an orchestrated cultural event, one of the middle east greatest and richest. The first four days will be allotted for men, followed by family days until the end of the event. School children will be welcomed in the mornings from Thursday February 4 to Thursday February 11, organizers said.
