Les Nations unies fixent 17 objectifs de développement durable

Les 193 Etats membres des Nations unies se sont mis d'accord dimanche sur un ambitieux programme de développement durable de la planète pour les 15 prochaines années qui devrait être entériné lors d'un prochain sommet en septembre.
Après deux semaines de négociations finales et plusieurs séances de nuits, les 17 Objectifs de développement durable (ODD) pour la période 2015-2030, assortis d'une déclaration concernant leur mise en oeuvre, ont été adoptés par consensus. Ils remplacent les huit Objectifs du millénaire, adoptés en 2000.
La chef de cabinet du secrétaire général des Nations unies Bank Ki-moon, Susana Malcorra, a parlé d'un accord "historique" tout en soulignant l'immensité du travail à réaliser.
"La taille même, l'ampleur et la complexité de ce programme sont un défi pour nous tous, pour les Nations unies", a-t-elle déclaré.
Les 17 ODD visent à éradiquer la faim et l'extrême pauvreté, à réduire les inégalités au sein des Etats et entre Etats, atteindre l'égalité entre hommes et femmes, améliorer la gestion de l'eau et de l'énergie et à agir vite contre le changement climatique.
Le réalisation de ces objectifs coûterait entre 3.300 et 4.500 milliards de dollars (entre 3.000 et 4.100 milliards d'euros) par an, estiment les analystes, soit l'équivalent du budget fédéral des Etats-Unis pour 2016 (3.800 milliards de dollars).(Reuters)
