The Arabic Language and Literature prize on the topic Analysis of the Arabic Poetic Text, was shared by Professor Muhammad Al-Ghazwani Muftah, a Moroccan, and Professor Mohammad Abdul Muttalib Mustafa, Egyptian. The Prize for Medicine on the topic: Clinical Application of Next Generation Genetics, was also divided between Professor Han Grrit Brunner and Professor Joris Andre Veltman, both from Netherlands. King Faisal International Prize for field of Science on Biology, was shared by Professor Vamsi Krishna Mootha, a U.S. citizen, and Professor Stephen Philip Jackson, from United Kingdom.
