The two sides also exchanged views on the fight against terrorism and extremism, and Sartaj Aziz briefed the Saudi foreign minister on the successful campaign waged by Pakistan against the dual threat of terrorism and extremism within its territory. The two sides stressed the need to develop the joint cooperation backed by the position of scholars to combat terrorism and extremism. The two delegations also discussed regional and international issues of common interest and agreed on concerted bilateral efforts to promote multi-faceted cooperation and work together to defeat terrorism and extremism. The statement emphasized that the meetings between the two sides took place in an atmosphere of warmth, friendship and affection that characterizes the historic and fraternal relations between the two countries.
