The Ministry of Interior said in a statement that a capital sentence against a murderer was carried out today in Qassim Region in retaliation for killing another following a personal dispute between them. The statement said that Ahmed bin Obaid bin Abdullah Al-Amri Al-Harbi, Saudi national, has fired to death Hadi bin Rashid bin Ziab Al-Amri Al-Harbi, also Saudi. Security authorities managed to arrest the murderer who pleaded guilty; the General Court convicted him of his crime and the sentence was endorsed by the concerned authority but was not implemented at the time, pending the then junior sons of the victim to turn adults to determine whether to pardon him or have the court ruling be carried out. Now that the junior sons of the victim turned adults and, together, with other inheritors decided to proceed with the court's ruling, the murderer was executed in Buraidah, Qassim Region, today after the sentence was endorsed by the Appeal and Supreme Courts and sealed by a royal order. The Ministry of Interior affirms that the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques is keen on the preservation of security, the establishment of justice and the implementation of the orders of Allah Almighty against anyone who attacks the secured people and sheds their blood; and it warns anyone who tries to commit such actions that he or she will be punished according to Sharia.
