Director General of the Border Guards Rear Admiral Awad bin Eid al-Balawi received the commander of the border guards of the Republic of Iraq Vice Admiral Hamed bin Abdullah Ibrahim and his accompanying delegation on Sunday at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, approved the third meeting between the Saudi-Iraqi border officials. The meeting will discuss developments of border security issues and the creation of a joint mechanism to counter terrorist operations in the common border area. The commander of the Iraqi border guard forces expressed his thanks to the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the hospitality and warm reception, stressing the importance of holding such meetings that promote and support the security plans of the border region between the two countries, deterring terrorists away from the border areas between the two countries.
