Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Youm, Al-Jazirah and Okaz newspapers editorially commented on the outcome of the recently-concluded G20 Summit in Turkey, citing the active role played by the Saudi delegation to the summit, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Dammam-based Al-Youm cast light on the speech delivered by King Salman at the meeting, notably his call on the world community to shoulder responsibility to go united to root-out the plague of terrorism from the entire world. King Salman said it is time to redouble efforts to eradicate the phenomenon and get the world rid of its evils as it is threatening the security and peace of the whole world. Al-Jazirah said "what is important is to get informed about the impact of the summit's resolutions on the economic situation of the Kingdom amid the current challenges witnessed by oil-producing countries in view of reduced prices and world market fluctuations and the extent of the improvement of the world economy in achieving security and peace, adding that economy and security are two associated partners. In its summit-related comments, Okaz focused on the Syrian crisis as still being an issue of people of a country seeking to get rid of its tyrant ruler who killed, forced the displacement of, and injured thousands of his country nationals for the sake of forcibly remain in office.
