A Brazilian lawmaker has been sentenced to nearly 12 years in prison in connection with a massive corruption probe at state-run oil giant Petrobras, according to AP. Deputy Congressman Luiz Argolo was convicted late Monday of accepting some $400,000 in bribes. Judge Sergio Moro also fined him $120,000 and ordered his helicopter seized. Argolo was already in jail pending the sentence, which he can appeal. Argolo represented Bahia state in Congress until 2014 as a member of the opposition Solidariedade party. But in last year's election he garnered only enough votes to be a substitute. Other politicians have already been convicted for their roles in the scheme including former congressmen Andre Vargas, once a key member of the ruling Worker's Party, and Pedro Correa, a conservative party's whip.
