AC Milan were held 0-0 at home to Atalanta after three straight wins in the Italian Serie A and moved into fifth place on 20 points from 12 games. The Devils did not threaten in the first half of the regional derby and risked after the break as Luca Cigarini on 63 minutes botched a tap-in after Gianluigi Donnarumma parried his close-range header. The 16-year-old goalkeeper then saved an angled shot from Maximilian Moralez and was well positioned on Alberto Grassi's low shot in the 70th minute. The Bergamo guests found no goals from their dominance and inched on to 18 points to fill the seventh position. The Devils had their best chance with 10 minutes left when Cigarini cleared a goal-bound header from substitute Luiz Adriano. With the in-form Giacomo Bonaventura suspended, the Rossoneri played below par after their 3-1 win at Lazio and found little help from the returning M'Baye Niang, who suffered a foot fracture in August.
