Finnish Prime Minister Juha Sipila's centre-right coalition Saturday agreed on health and social welfare reforms, averting a government collapse, dpa reported. The compromise was reached after marathon talks and Sipila described the process as "difficult." It entailed dividing the country into 18 autonomy regions and 15 authorities to administer health care and social welfare, compared to the current 150 regions. The reform also includes options for patients to choose between public, private or so-called third sector organizations such as registered charities.
