At least 10 worshippers were killed after a suicide bombed attacked a mosque in north-east Nigeria early Friday, dpa cited a witness as saying. The bomber walked into the Subhi Mosque in the town of Maiduguri around 5 am (0400 GMT) while prayers were on and detonated the explosives in the middle of the worshippers, said witness Ali Garba. Many were injured in the attack. Nigeria's National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said in a statement that it had removed "six dead bodies" from the mosque. The Nigerian government said the explosion was carried out by a lone suicide bomber.
