A 30-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to firing a shot near two people as they picked apples in northern Michigan, according to AP. MLive.com reports (http://bit.ly/1ZYK9Ra ) Wednesday that Shawn Beeler of Boyne Falls entered a guilty plea Tuesday in Charlevoix District Court to discharge of a firearm without malice, a misdemeanor. The plea was part of a deal with prosecutors. Beeler had been charged with felonious assault. Two other Boyne Falls residents were picking apples Sept. 15 from branches extending beyond a fence. After a woman told them the apples were on private property, they dumped the apples they had picked and began picking from a tree outside the fence. A shot was then fired near them. No one was hit. Beeler's sentencing will be set at a later date.
