The International federation of football (FIFA) on Friday suspended Kuwait Football Association (KFA) with immediate effect, banning any team from Kuwait to take part in any international event due to the contradiction of its sports local laws with the FIFA. "The suspension follows the decision of the FIFA Executive Committee during its meeting on 24 and 25 September to give until 15 October 2015 for changes to be made to the sports law of Kuwait," said FIFA in a press release from its Headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. "The suspension will be lifted only when the KFA and its members (the clubs) are able to carry out their activities and obligations independently," FIFA added. Accroding to the FIFA, "as a result of this decision, no team from Kuwait of any sort (including clubs) can have any international sporting contact (artice 14 paragraph three of the FIFA Statutes), and neither the KFA nor any of its members or officials can benefit from any development programme, including symposia or training courses to be organized by FIFA or the AFC."
