Israeli soldiers closed several checkpoints around major West Bank cities on Monday in another day of rising tension in the area. Huthaifa Suleiman, 18, was shot in the chest on Sunday when hundreds of Palestinians clashed with Israeli soldiers near a Jewish settlement close to the northern West Bank city of Tulkarm. He died at Tulkarm hospital despite surgery, medics said. Heavy clashes broke out on Sunday between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers throughout the West Bank and East Al-Quds. Medics treated more than 450 Palestinians hurt in the clashes, including dozens shot with live ammunition or rubber-coated bullets, a spokeswoman at the Palestinian Red Crescent said Monday. Three crew members in Red Crescent vehicles were also hit by rubber bullets, spokeswoman Urab Fuqaha said.
