AlHijjah 18, 1436, Oct 2, 2015, SPA -- India has submitted its plans to limit global warming, the last large major economy to do so, dpa reported The world's third-largest carbon emitter said it would target a 40-per-cent installed power capacity from non-fossil fuel sources by 2030. "India intends to reduce the emissions intensity of its GDP by 33 to 35 per cent by 2030 from 2005 level," according to a paper submitted to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change overnight. India's target is less ambitious than those of China and Brazil but more than the United States or Australia have promised. Countries were called on to set targets ahead of the climate conference in Paris in December.
