AlQa'dah 30, 1436, Sep 14, 2015, SPA-- Apple said Monday that preorders for its latest iPhone were so strong that it expects it to surpass last year's record of selling more than 10 million smartphones during its first weekend on sale. The company said that it began taking preorders for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus Saturday. The new models go on sale in stores and online September 25. Apple last year sold more than 10 million units of its previous model in the three days after they went on sale, a record for a new model. Apple shares rose $2.01, or 1.8 percent, to $116.22 in early trading Monday.
