Saudi agriculture allotted SR1.7 billion to fight palm red mite

AlQa'dah 22, 1436, September 06, 2015, SPA -- Thanking the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his directives, the minister of agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli said he received the royal approval to disburse SR1,766,000,000 billion over five years to fight the spread of palm red mite, a major killer of Saudi Arabia palm tree.
He said his ministry has drawn a program to combat the killing insect throughout palm-growing regions of the Kingdom.
