AlQa'dah 19, 1436, September 03, 2015, SPA -- Colombia is giving citizenship to dozens of Venezuelans separated from family members as part of President Nicolas Maduro's crackdown on illegal immigration along the border, according to AP. Foreign Minister Maria Angela Holguin said the move would allow at least 158 Venezuelans living in their homeland to be reunited with Colombian parents or spouses who were deported of abandoned their homes as part of Maduro's offensive. She made the comments Tuesday in the border city of Cucuta. In the past two weeks Maduro has closed six border crossings and deported 1,100 Colombians he accuses of sabotaging the economy and fueling crime. Another 10,000 returned voluntarily. More than 5 million Colombians live in Venezuela. Many of them have been living in the country for years and have formed families there.
