AlQa'dah 15, 1436, August 30, 2015, SPA -- Tropical Storm Erika dissipated east of Cuba Saturday after leaving dozens of people dead on the Caribbean island of Dominica, dpa reported. The US National Hurricane Centre in Miami said the storm had degenerated into a trough of low pressure, and it discontinued coastal storm watches and warnings. However, heavy rains of 7 to 15 centimetres was still expected from the remnants of the storm in the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Cuba through Sunday. It still could cause flash floods and mudslides, forecasters said. At least 35 people were presumed dead on Dominica after the tropical storm caused mudslides and other damage. At least four people were killed in Haiti in a traffic accident that was blamed on heavy rains generated by Erika.
