Messi Wins Europe Best Player Award

AlQa'dah 12, 1436, Aug 27, 2015, SPA -- Barcelona's Lionel Messi was Thursday named UEFA best player in Europe for 2014-2015. It was the third European title for the Argentina international following 2009 and 2011.
Despite losing with Argentina in the Copa America final to Chile in July following the 2014 defeat to Germany in the World Cup final, Messi helped Barcelona to the European Cup, La Liga and Spanish Cup treble, dpa reported.
Messi, a four-time world player of the year or Golden Ball winner, was selected ahead of 2014 Golden Ball winner Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid and Messi's Barcelona team-mate Luis Suarez.
