President of South Sudan Signs Peace Agreement with Armed Opposition

President of the State of South Sudan Salva Kiir signed the peace agreement today with the armed opposition, led by his former deputy Riek Machar.
The signing ceremony was held in the capital, Juba, in the presence of a number of African leaders, who are members of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development for Eastern Africa (IGAD), which led mediation between the two sides, following disagreements about some items relating to power-sharing.
